Our story begins over one hundred years ago, when a young barber named David Woodland moved to Austin, Texas, with his three brothers, each establishing their own barbershop in a different corner of the city. An Austinite legacy of impeccable customer service and bringing people together was born.
A couple of generations later, David Woodland III, a seasoned entrepreneur who had helped beautify the city by providing unique landscape design for dozens of customers, decided to take a bold step to renew and relaunch different commercial properties owned by the family. The properties, located in some of the most iconic areas of our city - such as South First district, Austin's East Side and South Lamar - have been undergoing several transformations with an emphasis on adding energy-efficient upgrades, art from local visionaries, and community-building spaces so patrons and local entrepreneurs can come together.
David's vision is to create Neighborhood Centers. These spaces are as unique as each specific area of the city where they are located. Centers where a curated portfolio of a wide range of fantastic small businesses, such as Juiceland, Scooter 911, Dylan Wylde, Catfish Parlour, and more, can offer residents and visitors a great sample of what each one of those beloved neighborhoods has to offer. Whether you want to cut your hair, get new merchandise for your business, or join a hip and friendly gym, you can visit a TPG center and find it all there.
To make this vision a reality, David enlisted the help of his family, Adam Van Alstyne, Lily, and Davy Woodland, creating a brilliant team comprised of celebrated professionals with decades of experience in business management and an evident passion for small and medium business owners. TPG builds, curates, and manages vibrant neighborhood centers that unite Austinites and celebrate our maverick Texan Capital city's past, present, and future. Transilience Property Group honors the legacy of the Woodland family and their legendary commitment to local entrepreneurship and community building.
